Donate to the William A. Lovis Research Fund in Environmental Archaeology

In recognition of Bill’s legacy at MSU as both a student and as a faculty member, an endowed fund known as the William A. Lovis Research Fund in Environmental Archaeology has been established. The endowment celebrates Bill’s commitment to research, and specifically, to research that examines human/environment interactions in deep time and prior to Euro-American colonization episodes worldwide.

We encourage you to donate now to the endowment in Bill’s honor. Your gift will go directly to support an annual graduate student scholarship in support of interdisciplinary environmental archaeological research bridging anthropological archaeology and the natural, physical, biological and earth sciences. We will soon recognize Bill’s contributions at his retirement dinner and are hoping to announce significant growth of the endowment that evening.

Insuring that deserving students specializing in environmental archaeology continue to have the support and opportunities that Bill enjoyed as a student, and later worked to provide for his own students, will be a meaningful tribute to a remarkable scholar and teacher.
